Ode to Breast (2025). Digital Print on Paper - Finalist Wollongong Art Prize, Wollongong Art Gallery.

This diptych stages a dialogue between two bodies. One image shows my mother’s breast, scarred by cancer and inscribed with lived experience. The other is a fabricated still life of an augmented breast, detached from the body. Together, they reflect on how breasts are marked, mediated and remade through personal and societal forces.

Amali (2025) Digital Print on Paper - Finalist, 40 under 40 Art Prize,
Butter Factory Arts Centre, Cooroy.

I was there when Amali entered the world. Born via C-section, she was placed in my arms while her mums tummy was being stitched up. For her life's first hour, it was just us. She fit perfectly along my forearm, weightless. Now, at twenty, she has long since outgrown that space. She exists between the child she was and the person she is becoming. Chaos surrounds her as she faces the heavy expectations placed on young women. Yet, she clings to her teddy like a life raft. Under the banner of House Slytherin — our shared allegiance — she kneels in the light of transformation, luminous. This image captures my niece in transition, almost swallowed by her world but daring to shine through. It is a portrait of becoming.
